T1 is the transit customs declaration. Its used when customs is not completed, goods are not imported. T1 provides the customs bonded transfer for the vehicle. At this point customs bonded vehicle should be used. For export loadings T1 is necessary, if the import customs are required in a different customs than vehicle’s arrivals customs, or goods would be transferred to another country without being imported. When the arrival customs is needed in a different location, it should also be checked if vehicle can proceed to that route, or if possible to find local transfer option. Its also possible to deliver the shipment with T1 document in Europe, but it should be very carefully followed as the T1 guarantee penalties are very high. For import traffic, if the shipment is coming from another country as transit, shipper can provide the shipment to truck together with T1 document.
